Wales's
Lee Edwards
fished brilliantly
on day 1 with 3 points
from the wrong
end of zone D...

...this was
repeated on day 2
with 3 points,
again all weights
around him coming
from the other end
of the Zone.

...what
can you say..

5 times happy
World Champ Alan
left all in
his wake...

...beat this!!

Championships - PHOTO SHOTS
Alan Scotthorne
had a double sided
battle on day 1
with Italy's
Gianluigi Sorti and
Wales's Nigel Evans,
finishing 2nd
in zone A.

Next day
it was Belgium's
Guido Nullens and
Andrea Forni of
Switzerland who
were seen off.
Top Belgian
Luc Vercammen won
zone B comfortably
on day 1
but had to work
harder the second day,
finishing up with
7 points for
5th overall.

Darren Frost
one of 3 Welshmen
in the top 12 individuals
fished a blinder on the 1st day
with 5.240kg
and 2 points.

2nd day
fished very well from
the harder part of the zone to
end up with 6 points...

..unlucky not to get
amongst the medals.

Geert Jacobs
the consistant
Belgian had a real
peg to peg tussle
with last years
World Champ,
Walter Tamàs, on
the 1st day and
finished the
championships
9th overall.

Although the
team plan was to
fish mainly the
fixed waggler,
Wales's Andrew
Murphy balls in
on the pole line
just in case...

Andrew finished
11th overall with
9 points.

Individual
World champ in
2004 and 2006,
Walter Tamàs, could
have been forgiven
after topping zone C
on day 1 for
thinking that
2007 was also
going to be
his year...

....12th place
in zone B on the
2nd day saw his
chances fade.

Scotland's
top man
was Brian Clark,
the canny Scot
stuck to his guns
and finished helping
his country to a
respectable top
15th place.

...by their
high standards
France had a
disastrous year
finishing in
17th place.

Their top man was
Diego Da Silva  who
recovered from a
difficult 1st day to
win zone E on the
2nd day with
4.500kg.

...now
with a record
40 teams competing
in the World Champs
you need a
big venue.
Tomas
Romera Perez
was Spain's top
performer he
bounced back from
a difficult day 1 to
top zone A on the
second day with a
massive 7.230Kg..

...the best match
weight of the
Championships.
One of the
bonus carp
needed to push
your weight up,
this one was caught
in practice by Poland's
Piotr Lorenc who finished
the Championships with
13+2 points for
23rd place
overall.
With
plenty of fish
at the beginning of
the practice week
for all, a sudden
change of the
weather and
especially the
falling temperature
saw weights fall in
the Championship
weekend.
