ST INTERMEDIATES come in 2 sizes, LIGHT - for elastics Ø 0.66mm (No2) to 1.13mm (No7) and HEAVY - for elastics Ø 1.2mm (No8) to 2.1mm (No16).
Made from the purest PTFE compounds they come in a specially designed shape so as to "flex" and bend with the pole section when under tension.

ST INTERMEDIATES work particularly well with solid elastics which tend to stick to the inside walls of the pole. Not really necessary with hollow elastics as they react differently under tension, with a softer longer stretch.
As pole section diameters vary with each different manufacturer ST INTERMEDIATES are designed to cover these ranges and should self-locate in most top quality professional poles.
Specifically designed to fit into cut back tips and 2nd section, or into a long power tip section, as this is where most of the bending and side wall drag will take place.
ST INTERMEDIATES are assembled by threading all 4 of them on to fitted pole elastic. Next, the two smaller diameter Intermediates go one at a time into the tip section, inverting the section and gently tapping down each Intermediate will hold them in position.
Then, the tip section fitted with the two smaller Intermediates is passed through the 2nd section, followed in turn by the final two Intermediates. Once again a slight tap down will hold them in position, or they usually self-locate. If a long power tip section is used thread the Intermediates on to the elastic and fit each one in turn starting with the smallest.
